• 30 hours FREE Nursery Provision
  We are pleased to announce that we will be offering FREE 30 hours Nursery provision for those eligible from Sept 2018. Did you know that Nursery children are NOW included in criteria for admission to our outstanding Reception classes / school.
• Year 1 exprience Chinese New Year
  Today we had some visitors from the Oriental Museum in Durham who helped year 1 children to learn more about Chinese New Year.
• Purple Mash online learning platform
  A reminder to all parents that we subscribe to Purple Mash which enables children to explore and enhance their knowledge in a fun and creative way. Please use this at home as much as you would like. There is a link on our website under 'Kids Zone.'
• Farewell Mrs Lydon!
  It has been a sad but exciting day at school today as we say good bye to Mrs Lydon from the school office. She has been at Hill View for 25 years and within this time has NEVER had a day off. You will be missed.
• OPAL meeting
  Please can we remind all parents that there is a meeting on Friday 19th January at 9am regarding our exciting OPAL project which will enhance our playtimes at school. The project is already underway and we hope to see changes on our yard imminently.
• FRED day: Thursday 1st March
  As part of World Book Day we will be running FRED (Fathers Reading Every Day) again this year.
• Reception Christmas Treat
  It's been very festive in school this week and no more so than in Reception. The children and staff changed into their pyjamas and enjoyed a polar express experience today.
• Diary Dates
  Spring term diary dates have been added to the school website. Select the school office tab and 'diary dates'.
• EARWIG
  Parents in nursery and reception will soon be able to log into 'earwig academic' website to access their child's learning records.
• First signs of snow!
  Look who we caught enjoying some fun in the snow this morning after the register.
